Gum Arabic is used as a binder medium for a variety of applications. Use with water and Pearl Ex Pigments (or other dry pigments) to make your own transparent watercolors, washes, stamping and calligraphy inks. For use on paper, wood or any surface that will not be washed. Gum Arabic produces a glossy, easy to brush or stamp on paint that easily mixes and cleans up with water.

Instructions

Add dry gum to pigment in a ratio of 1 part gum to 4 parts pigment. (Ratio of gum to pigment may be adjusted for different effects). Slowly add water and mix until the desired consistency is achieved. Solutions of gum and water may also be prepared and stored in a cool place for later use.

The water-based Kyo-no-oto fountain pen ink comes in 5 different colors in 40ml ink bottles.

Yamabuki is the plant rosaceae kerria genus. This color means a brilliant red tinged gold just like Yamabuki. This color has been used since ancient times.

Manuscript Calligraphy Ink in a great for practicing calligraphy!  30ml bottles, secured with a wax-capped lid. The colours are dye-based inks and can be used with fountain pens, but Manuscript advise cleaning the nib and feed thoroughly after use.

Moon Palace is a beautiful Japanese Sumi Ink that is good for pointed pen and broad edge work.
